Introduction

The EGA Raised Floor Trunking System is designed to cater for the need for cable management in raised access floors. It provides a solution for distributing power, telecommunications and data services to user level by way of floor outlet boxes.

It is useful for open plan and partitioned offices and can be installed within pedestal raised platform floors.

The EGA raised floor service box is designed to be flushed with the raised floor so as to be neat looking.

It is also designed for easy installation to the raised floor board and floor finish materials like carpets and vinyl coverings.

The service outlet frame and trap covers are manufactured from high pressure die cast zinc alloy and coated with oven baked epoxy powder paint. The base units are fabricated from electrogalvanised steel sheet and also coated with oven baked epoxy powder paint for protection of steel against corrosion.

The following are the salient features of EGA raised floor service outlet boxes:

1. The flush design ensures that there are no protrusions of the trap frames or covers on the floor which may cause accidents like tripping over and it also eliminates difficulties in the installation of the carpets. It is designed for the carpet to be gripped around the trap frame and hence, prevents the carpet from curling or tearing. The trap covers are recessed with a trim for carpets, laminated/vinyl floor materials. This is to prevent the floor materials from being kicked up.

2. The standard box size of 250 x 250mm is most suitable for mounting any configuration and type of accessories. The EGA three compartment boxes have large accessory mounting plates that can accept multiple accessories for each compartment. All compartments are fully segregated for power, telecommunication and data cabling.

3. The two sides of the base unit where the conduits are to be connected are slanted at an angle to enable cables to bend at a wider radius. The base unit has facilities for 2 Nos. 20mm and 2 Nos 25mm knockouts for conduits for each compartment. Two earthing terminals are provided for additional earthing cables if required.

4. The hinged trap covers can be opened through 180 degrees and laid flat on the floor when opened.

5. EGA Raised Floor Service boxes are available in standard configurations of 1, 2, 3 or 4 compartments.

6. Single, twin and triple compartment raised floor service outlet boxes are our standard configurations.

7. EGA raised floor service outlet boxes when integrated with the Underfloor Powerlink or EGA raised floor trunking system will form a very versatile cable network scheme.
